Where to recycle electronics?

If you are in San Francisco or the Silicon Valley, I’ve just found out about a group that recycles e-Waste, called GreenCitizen (can’t vouch, but it sounds pretty good). However, if you live elsewhere, or even if you do live in the Bay Area, many dumps or landfills will accept old electronics (yes, many are hazardous), or bleach, paint, or other toxic materials, often at no charge. Old CRT computer monitors are particularly toxic. But hey, if you have a MacBook Air, it’s completely recycleable (or you could just give it to me).

My childhood marathons

YouTube

Here’s some recently rediscovered Super-8 film of two marathons I ran in Boise, Idaho. The first is in 1976 (age 9), the second in 1977 (age 10). You’ll see my dad sometimes encouraging or running beside me in his blue coat and jeans. He was not in the race, but followed in the car. It was the Les Bois Marathon. I added some still photos I found in my old album and backed it all up with one of my favorite movie soundtracks. For the record, I did not finish the marathon, running only 20 miles in 3:00:49. The next year I returned and completed the 26 mile race in 4:21:40. Thanks to my Uncle Ron who shot the 1976 film and my mom who shot the 1977 film.
